Barbara Ganley

As a child and young adult I wanted more than anything to be an artist. I took classes and worked hard but life had other plans: marriage, motherhood, and bills.
While working, I earned three degrees in nursing and a PhD, in Health Education. My professional life included teaching, conducting nursing research, and writing and publishing peer reviewed articles. But there was precious little time for other pursuits. In 2013 I retired Professor Emeritus. I am married to the love of my life (Barry), have three amazing children (Phillip, Carri, and Jason) , 3 wonderful in-law children (Deana, Eddie, and Patty), and 8 beloved grandchildren.
Now, retired in Sonoma, California, I have an opportunity to spend time crafting and working on art. The goal of each piece I create is to evoke an emotional response, peak curiosity, or cause one to reflect. Love it or hate it, if a piece gives one pause then I have succeeded.
